On Friday, March 22, Atlanta Artistic Weddings had the honor of photographing Jessica and Matthew’s early spring wedding soiree at the historic Atlanta Athletic Club.
The Atlanta Athletic Club was established in 1898 as a private club for young businessmen searching “for a place to enjoy indoor and outdoor athletics” with colleagues and friends. After AAC opened, its membership quickly surpassed the original downtown space, which was located on Edgewood Avenue, and eventually, the East Lake property too. “As the Club’s membership gradually moved northwards, the Club moved with them during the late 1960s and early 1970s to one magnificent location in Johns Creek.” Recognized as one of the top athletic clubs in the U.S., the Atlanta Athletic Club is home to two championship golf courses, an enormous athletic center and indoor and outdoor tennis courts, to name a few.
Because Jessica and Matthew both enjoy playing tennis and golf, we photographed the two having fun and being playful on the tennis courts with rackets and on the golf course greens. We couldn’t have asked for a better forecast. The gorgeous March weather was a bonus.
One of our favorite features of Jessica and Matthew’s big day was their famous reception guest. The two hired a truly talented Michael Jackson impersonator to perform. Danny Dash Andrews, dubbed as “the world's No. 1 Michael Jackson impersonator,” impressed guests with a high-energy tribute performance. His marvelous abilities combined with his graceful dance moves, which reflected those of the late King of Pop, had all of us singing and dancing along. DJ Aetii of One Night Entertainment was also a great addition to the reception amusement. He handed out light sticks to all the wedding guests as everyone celebrated Jessica and Matthew and danced the night away.
