This Saturday, Feb. 2, Atlanta Artistic Weddings and other talented wedding industry professionals will be partnering up with the Payne-Corley House in historic Duluth to host their Open House & Trunk Show. Since the late ‘90s, the Payne-Corley House has been acknowledged as one of Atlanta's premiere wedding venues with offerings that include planning and event coordination, catering and bar services and floral and event design. While this gorgeous farmhouse is home to some of the loveliest weddings and special events set in the southeast, the Payne-Corley House is dripping with rich history.

Known as the oldest standing home in Duluth, the Payne-Corley House was built in the early 1870s by David Little. Throughout the years, the property has had its fair share of various owners including Little, the Respess and Moor families, Lee Payne, Frances Payne and Minor Corley and eventually Corley’s second wife, Winnie Guthrie Cain. Following her husband’s death, Cain continued to preserve the remarkable Payne-Corley House and it’s antiquity. She often welcomed family, friends and neighbors into the home throughout the early ‘80s and late ‘90s.

According to the Payne-Corley House’s website, when Cain was set to sell the house, five of Cain’s stepdaughter’s friends—and Duluth natives—purchased the property and officially named it the Payne-Corley House. Together, the five women—Jane (Lynott) Wilson, Judy (Mulkie) Burel, Annette (Knox) Summerour, Margie (Tonge) Ross and Emma (Bray) Deavours, also known as the ‘Dreamkeepers’—transformed the treasured family residence into an extraordinary locale for special events. The ‘Dreamkeepers’ devoted themselves to sustaining the house’s celebrated charm and splendor while making refurbishments for future clients.

And then in 2008, Duluth native and one of the ‘Dreamkeepers’ daughter’s, Krista Summerour Ganley, along with her husband, Michael Ganley, bought the Payne-Corley House and “launched a major facility expansion with upgrades across the property, providing enhanced services for weddings and special events.” The Ganleys possess an immense talent and creativity and well-rounded knowledge that makes for a perfect event, especially weddings.

If you’re a bride or groom looking for the perfect venue and/or to assemble your wedding day dream team, look no further than the Payne-Corley House’s Open House & Trunk Show. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests will be able to tour the venue and enjoy champagne and fine cuisine while meeting an elite group of wedding professionals, including SE Events, Salon Greco, The Baking Grounds Bakery Café, Abby’s at The Cottage and of course, AAW. Attendees can also take part in an informal trunk show featuring bridal gowns from Natalie's Bridals by Blue Bloom as well as receive floral and design ideas from Abby’s. The wedding planning process can be quite daunting and stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. If you’re interested in attending, click here to reserve your spot today.

Congratulations on your engagement – AAW can’t wait to meet you!
