Intimate Wedding at Payne Corley House

This week’s wedding is Jack and Gloria.  It was an intimate wedding at the Payne Corley House, where a few lifelong friends and family got together on a beautiful day to celebrate two people who found a partner in life.

The Payne Corley House, built in 1873, is one of my favorite venues in Atlanta.   The owners Krista and Michael Ganley have turned this historic mansion into a premier wedding turnkey venue, that can provide you with flowers from Abby’s at the Cottage, food from one the top cooks in Atlanta, talented professional wedding planners and a beautiful setting for your event.

The wedding started at 1pm on Saturday.  They did not want a first look, so I shot the groom and bride separately.  I started at the cute little cottage they have behind the main house, which is where the groomsmen were getting ready.  They wore matching grey suits with blue ties that matched the bridesmaids dresses.  While the guys were getting ready, the groom Jack, gave them their groomsmen gifts, customized glass bourbon tumblers with the location of where he first met each groomsman.  After he handed them out he poured bourbon into each one and the men made a toast to a great wedding and good friends.  That is a spirited way to start your wedding day!

After I finished with the guys I went to check in with the bride and all the bridesmaids were doting on her.  Two of them had been friends with the bride, Gloria, since she was 8 years old.  When the bridesmaids finished with her, Gloria’s mom came in to do the final touches and helped her with her wedding veil.   When the bride was ready we did some fun photos in the house.  There is a great place right outside the bridal suite with some great light and an antique sofa where we did a few shots.  After a few more photos at the house it was time for the wedding!

The ceremony took place in the large Gazebo next to the main house that was perfect for an intimate wedding like theirs.  It provided shade and fresh air for the wedding party and guests.

After the wedding we took a few more photos then went into the main house for the introductions.  The bride and groom did a very sweet first dance for everyone,  there was a sit down meal made by master chef Michael Ganley for the guests.  After a few more toasts we gathered outside for the wedding exit, where they handed out flags with bells on them to the guests.  I thought they were perfect accessories for an afternoon wedding exit.
