The Wonderful World Of Winter: Why We Love Winter Weddings!

by Heather Towhey

Winter is a favorite time of year for so many people and is a very popular time for weddings. The Christmas season brings with it a certain air of magic, and the snow, decorations, and all around ambiance of winter make for a beautiful, elegant setting for any special event. With Christmas just around the corner, let’s take a look back at some beautiful winter weddings our Atlanta wedding photographers have captured that show why we love this season so much!

The winter/Christmas theme provides the perfect opportunity for unique, personalized wedding attire that matches the theme! You’ll have your choice of a bunch of colors for your wedding outfit and accessories, which can be blue and silver to represent winter or red and gold to represent Christmas. Our photographers have seen the groom experiment with a very dapper-looking blue or red suit and some of our brides have added details such as a red or silver belt or a very classy shawl if they wear short sleeves..

Another benefit of having your wedding at Christmas is that you have lots of decorating options. In some cases for a few of our couples the venue had already decorated beautifully for Christmas. However, there are plenty of options for decorations around Christmas, like wreaths, garlands, tinsel, and lighting all in the appropriate winter/Christmas colors. One of our couples even gave their guests decorations as favors and everyone left with a commemorative ornament.

Of course, one of the main reasons for having a winter wedding is the possibility of snow on your wedding day! The snow adds to the romantic atmosphere of the event and it makes for an absolutely gorgeous background in wedding photos. We’ve had a few Atlanta Artistic Weddings couples who were lucky enough to have snow fall on their wedding day and the result was truly magical!
