As an Atlanta wedding photographer I shoot a lot of wedding venues. Every year I shoot at a couple of Magic Moments wedding venues. This company runs six award-winning Atlanta area event venues. They run Flint hill, The Atrium, Primrose Cottage, Little Gardens, Cloverleaf Farm and Vinewood Stables. At all of those venues A Divine Event usually does the catering, floral and design work for the weddings.

The venue I am most familiar with is Little Gardens since I live in Lawrenceville. I was going to Little Gardens years ago before I was an Atlanta wedding photographer when it was a landmark restaurant up on the hill. Now it is one of the area’s most popular wedding venues. I have shot several weddings there and a couple with my church’s pastor. The staff have always been gracious and there are several great locations for photography. They have a large wall-sized mirror in the bridal room where you can get a shot of the front and back of the wedding dress at the same time and sometimes even a complete bridal party shot. There is also of course the garden in the courtyard area in the back and sides of the venue. Since everything is so close together it makes it quick and easyl to get around.

The next place on the same side of town is Flint Hill. It is minutes from downtown Atlanta and right around the corner from where I live. It is located in the Norcross historic district off of Buford Highway. It is a perfect venue for the spring and fall because there is an outdoor courtyard, gardens, and covered pavilion is perfect for a cocktail hour and the garden makes for a perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony. The historic mansion has a huge upstairs for the bridal room and groom’s room. The front of the venue is surrounded with a wrought iron fencing and has a brick walkway that leads to the front of the house, which has a balcony and huge columns that give a very regal vibe.

I recently shot at Primrose cottage. Primrose is one of many houses built for Roswell King in the Roswell Historic District. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Properties. There is a large upstairs bridal suite that can be broken out into two rooms. There is a large room and a bar for the groomsmen to get ready downstairs. In the back of the house is a Veranda that overlooks the English Gardens which makes for a beautiful backdrop for photos. The front of the house is stunning also. It is adorned with large columns on the porch. There is also a large ballroom in the rear of the house that can accommodate many guests and keep cool in the Georgia summers.
What makes all these venues so awesome is the staff. They are consummate pros! I have worked with several of their wedding directors and they have always been so generous and gracious. They also know how to make a wedding run smoothly. That professionalism also goes for everyone who works there from the person setting up the chairs, the servers to the bar staff. Together they make a well well-oiled machine.
