Looking for Light by Atlanta Artistic Weddings

by David Diener

You don't need a lot of lights for great lighting you just need the right light for your subject.  Recently I meet with a potential client and they asked me how many lights I carry.   It made me think about how I shoot.  When I get to a wedding venue I try to get there early so I can walk around and look for the best light and think about the time line.   That way I know where to shoot in the morning, evening and afternoon.  When you are aware of the

natural light

you can have some b

eautiful wedding photographs

.  I like to shoot with a minimal amount of lighting equipment that way I can move quickly and capture the special moments of your wedding day.

This photograph above is shot with natural light and no strobes and I love the lighting in this photograph.  I will now tell you why.  The lighting is even but has enough shadow to give the subject depth.  It was a bright beautiful day.  So I took the bride to the front porch of this historic mansion.  I wanted a bright background for her but I did not want the light on her to be blown out.   I moved her to behind one of the columns on the porch to shade her and then I knew I had the perfect lighting.  Even lighting on her face and a bright background to break her up from the background.  All of this was done with

natural light!

As you visit my site I do hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I did taking them. It is such an honor being a

wedding photographer in Atlanta

.

Thanks so much for visting!
