Well we had our first truly Micro Wedding and Elopement this week. It was truly a special day for the family. It was the smallest wedding I have shot but it was also one of the most special ones.

The wedding party consisted of parents, one grandparent and one groomsman. The wedding was broadcast via zoom to the rest of the friends and family. The ceremony was conducted by the father of the groom so in total there were seven lucky people present! It was a very intimate wedding with few people present but shared via today’s technology for many. They used zoom to broadcast the wedding. It was neat to see people come into the meeting room to celebrate the big day. There were a few technical hick-ups but they were resolved and the wedding resumed.

There was also a lot of face-timing with friends via the phone. The couple could show the details of the wedding with their friends and chat with them also. I could see the joy in everyone’s faces. Thank God for all the new technology we have during this time of social distancing. Zoom and our phones with cameras have brought people together even though they are far apart psychically.

All the protocols of social distancing were followed. Since there were so few people there was plenty of room between guests.

They couple even did their first dance! They had practiced before the corona virus affected the way people have gathered. They danced to the Queen song “Best Friend”. It was wonderful moment that spread smiles through out the place.

It was great to see to families come together safely and share the joy of two people coming together in marriage.
