Let me introduce you to Dioscia and Artis, two incredibly loving people who enjoy life and have great faith. Dioscia is a powerful force of positivity who has a contagious laugh that spreads smiles all around her. Artis is a devout man who is loyal to friends, family and faith.

Their wedding took place at the Wimbish House on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. The Wimbish House was designed for William Wimbish a prominent lawyer in Atlanta. It was completed in 1906. This Victorian era home has intricate details, massive stone masonry ornamentation, with Steep gales. It is one of the few houses in downtown Peachtree to survive. It is part of the Georgian Trust which supports the preservation of historic resources such as this beautiful mansion. Now the building is owned by the Atlanta’s Woman’s Club. Funds from rental fees are used to support the Club's charitable activities.

The wedding day started at the Wimbish House. I was greeted by Karina Hill the wedding director who then introduced me to the rest of the team. I knew that it was going to be a good day when you have such wonderful professionals around you. Karina was so helpful before the wedding day communicating wedding details to the vendors and coordinating with the couple. On the wedding day she was like a Marine the first one in and the last to leave. She was helpful throughout the wedding process.
Upstairs is where Dioscia was getting ready with her, mom, family and friends, upstairs consists of a few rooms with large windows and natural light. The bridal room had a large mirror so the bride can see her dress from top to bottom.

I love when a couple expresses themselves in the details of the wedding. Dioscia and Artis did not disappoint. Dioscia had these great customized bridal sneakers, with ribbon and rhinestones. It is important for a bride to walk around comfortably and stylishly on her wedding day. Her bouquet was decorated with photos of grandparents and memories of people who were missed. Artis had a shirt made with Mrs. Porter B. Jones on it. She is an important and supportive figure in his family. She is affectionately known as Grandma, Aunt Porter, Ms. Porter B., PJ and Auntie. These details show what is important to the family and the couple.
Dioscia and Artis wanted to do a first look so we decided to do it in the room upstairs where they had some of that great natural light. I got Artis to look out the window and Dioscia came into the room behind him. She tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around to see the most beautiful bride in the world. They took some time to soak in the moment. While they were alone they practiced their first dance. It was such a sweet moment.

Once done we went outside and took some photos around the historic mansion. The porch was beautiful and there was a nice little walkway between the office building and the Wimbish house that provided some nice photo locations.

We went back into the Wimbish house, took some photos on the stairs and proceeded to take family photos. While I was doing that Sarah was taking photos of the details in the ceremony area.
Once done it was show time. The guests were seated in the lower ballroom area, which was nice and cool, a relief from the outside Atlanta heat. As they were seated Karina was upstairs coordinating the bridal party entrance. Artis came in by himself and Dioscia was escorted by her mom. It was a very sweet ceremony. They shared communion, exchanged vows, rings and said, “I Do!”. Finally they sealed the deal with a kiss as husband and wife.

After the ceremony there was a cocktail hour where guests were served hors d’ouvers and drinks. They could mingle in the spacious greeting room or venture outside on the porch. While guests were enjoying the hors d’oeuvres and drinks, the wedding team flipped the ceremony area into an elegant dining room with decorated tables and bar areas. Once done the guests were invited back down to the ballroom for dinner.

During this time the couple were introduced as husband and wife. They were toasted and touching stories were shared on how these two people were such positive influences on the people around them. At the end of the evening the couple got to say goodbye to each guest as they left.

Once everyone was gone, we got to take a few more photos outside the venue to say thank you to one of our favorite couples. It was a perfect ending to a perfect wedding.
