I just thought that I would throw this out there. Just another shout out for Google and it's free tools. I just signed up for Google voice (yep it is free). When you sign up for Google voice you get a free number that you can use to make phone calls on a computer and forward phone calls. Getting the Right DJ - let's make some music!
During my time as a professional wedding photographer I have seen a lot of DJ's. They come in many different sizes and styles. The two things I always tell every couple that I meet and it has always held true. One deligate on your wedding day everyone around you wants to help and make it a great day. The second thing I say is it is your wedding. With that in mind think about what kind of DJ you want.
Think about what kind of music you would like to have at your wedding. There are certine DJ's that specialize in a ceretin kind music. You can get people who specialize in laid back Frank Sinatra or people who have air guitars and play 80's heavy metal. Like I said they come in many different varieties.
There are DJ's that get the crowd going and organize photos. I have recently worked with one of the best last weekend. He helped me organize some great wedding photography group shots and was genuinely wanted the couple to have a great time his name was Tod Peavy.
Can't Dampen Our Spirits!
I love my job!! I just shot a wedding at the Braselton Stover House. If you live in Georgia you know how much rain we have been having. It is just off the charts we have been having flooding through out the Atlanta area.
I just want to share that the wedding that I shot. This couple had the right attitude they were going to get married and the rain was not going to dampen their sprits! You can see the photos of this Atlanta wedding at Atlanta Artistic Weddings.
With some simple adjustments on the camera you can't even tell that it is pouring down rain in this photo.
Make a Rain Plan for your wedding
Today in Atlanta we are having a record amount of rain in short period of time. So I thought it would be a good time to talk about having a rain contention plan for your wedding. After working so many weddings I have seen my share ones effected by rain. The old saying "hope for the best but plan for the worst" is a a good saying because it is true. Most venues I have worked at have always have a back up plan. When working at the Flint house it started to rain and the professionals there turned a outside wedding into a beautiful inside wedding. I have also worked with other professionals such as the ones at the Braselton Stover House. Mary Stover has had many years of experience and a cool head under pressure. Her facility is very conducive all types of weather. As a professional Atlanta wedding photographer I have been trained to be supportive to the couple and to help in any way that I can.
Indian Weddings
I want to say one of the most colorful and beautiful ceremonies is the ones from the Indian culture. Since working at www.atlantaartisticweddings.com I have gotten the honor of photographing Indian weddings and engagement parties. It was so great to see everyone dressed in their traditional clothing and celebrating their culture together. As you can tell from the photographs it is a Atlanta Wedding Photographer's Dream!!!
What to look for in a Church when you are having your wedding
I have done many weddings at many different church locations through out Atlanta and the surrounding areas. The one thing that can be said that everyone will agree on is that they are all different! Each religion, minister, church group and church have different rules about what a person can and can not do. It is important to look over the church's rules and to ask as many questions that you can so there are no supprizes. I have talked to many people who think that when they rent a church then they can do as they please. But churches have very unique and specific rules that everyone has to respect. As I have said before I am (the photographer) not the most important person at the wedding. The most important thing is the ceremony and the couple. I don't use flash because I don't want to take away from the couple of the scanity of the ceremony. I am not going to be the obnoxious wedding photographer going behind you during the ceremony.

Wedding at wonderful old Mansion outside Atlanta
This bride booked me a year in advance. Her brides maid is the one who suggested me to her and I was so appreciative because this was a wonderful wedding. It was held a mansion outside of metro Atlanta close to Athens, Georgia. You can see examples of the wedding at atlantaartisticweddings . They were such a cute christian couple who I can tell have many of years of happiness in front of them.

This wedding reminds me of the urban weddings you see in magazines. This wedding was shot in the the heart of downtown Atlanta. The bride and groom wanted a very urban feel. They did the pre-wedding photos a the Atlanta botanical Gardens. The wedding was held at view photos of Atlanta Artistic Weddings.

We had some great weather! The bride and groom were wonderful and surrounded by some great friends and family. The groom's father officiated the ceremony. Number one rule - it is your wedding - good advice / bad advice
When you decide to have your wedding you will have a lot of family, wedding professionals and clergy giving you ideas about a great wedding. But at the end of the day it is your wedding. You should never forget that. This is day you have been waiting for your whole life. Don't let these people to cloud your vision of your wedding day. With this said there should advice you should listen to and advice you should ignore.

Hello everyone my name is David Diener and I am a wedding photographer in Atlanta. I love photography and I love people. Wedding photography brought these 2 things together for me. Since I have been doing weddings I found that many brides need help. One of the things that they need is resource to make things easier. That is the purpose of this blog.
