This weekend, I had the honor of shooting an engagement photography session with this wonderful couple. They could not have been more relaxed and fun. As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I have the honor of shooting many wonderful couples, and I could tell that this particular couple were just so in love! The bride was actually born and raised in the Atlanta area (a rare find!). She went to school just down the road from my own family in Gwinnett county. The groom is from outside of Nashville and could not have been more gracious when we meet. Together, they are just really down home people, and we all wanted to capture that goodness in their engagement photography.

They wanted a rustic photo shoot, so we choose McDaniel Farm Park for the location. It's tucked away from the busy mall area in Gwinnett, just off of interstate 85. But it's so tucked away, you can't even see it from the road. Situated on a 1930's cotton farm, the park has all the historic equipment and structures intact. There is a barn and a multi-use trail, along with a tenant house in the middle of this beautiful field where the above photo was taken.

They asked me before the shoot if it was ok to bring their pets. I am a huge animal lover and said "yes!!!" (with that many exclamation points in my voice). Pets can be so much fun to shoot. They each have their own personality, and they are absolutely a part of the family! The couple brought their two dogs, who were a blast to be around. They ran around smelling everything and even posing for the camera!

As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I often get to go to off-the-beaten-path places that are so beautiful, like McDaniel Farm Park, all while hanging out with some really cool people! Because that's what engagement photography is all about.
