I have talked to a lot of Atlanta wedding photographers. All of them list the Fox Theatre as one of their favorites. This historic Atlanta landmark is in the heart of Atlanta facing Peachtree Street and the Georgian Terrace two more Atlanta landmarks that everyone knows.

The Fox Theatre has a rich history. Starting out a s headquarters for the Shriners which explains the Spanish and Egyptian architecture such as the domes, minarets, intricate gold leaf and stunning trompe l’oeil artwork.

Over the years the Fox has changed owners and has been restored to its past glory. There is constance maintanice on a historic building of this stature. But through grants and the love of Atlanta the Fox is better than it has ever been!

What you see first when you go to the Fox is the marque sign out front. There you can see what shows are there and what is coming next. On your wedding day they will put your name on the famous sign where Atlanta will know how special this day is.

Then you come in to the main entrance where there are doors in front that bring you into the main lobby and theater. Then there are some discret doors to the left that will lead you to the Egyption Ballroom. Where they have private events such as wedding receptions. there is also up there the terrace where they have wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours where your guest can overlook the iconic Peachtree Street.

I have shot at the Egyption Ballroom many times. I always see something I did not see before maybe the at detail in the floor a sculpture that was missed or the terrace that is hidden behind the curtain that lines the wall. The large stage that leads to another hidden area. Or even the balcony that overlooks the huge dance floor. It is the perfect area for a large reception where you can impress your guests.

Then there is a smaller area upstairs that is perfect for an intimate ceremony and small reception but you still get all the grandeur of the historic Fox Theatre.

If you are lucky and there is not a show the day of your wedding. I have snuck in to the stage area of the venue and taken some breath taking photos on the main stage. If you want to feel like a star of your wedding that is the place to get your photos.

The best part of the Fox though is the people. Everytime I have shot there the employees have been so gracious. They go over and beyond to make sure you have a day to remember. They also love sharing their love of Atlanta’s favorite landmark.
