I am so thankful that I am an Atlanta wedding photographer! I have been shooting weddings in Atlanta for over 20 years. One of the many reasons I love wedding photography is I love learning and love people. There is always something to learn and new people to meet.

Looking back there are so any moments that are memorable to me. When you live in a big city like Atlanta you are exposed to so many cultures and people from all over the world. I feel like every wedding is an adventure!

The one thread that goes through every wedding is the love that is shared and the combining of families. I am am amazed how so many cultures celebrate love. I am Presbyterian (the frozen chosen) we are very reserved. While you have some the Jewish weddings where they carry around the the couple above their heads and paraded them! Then there is just the Indian/Hindu weddings that lasts for days!

This year we did a Jewish, Catholic, Hindu, gay and Halloween weddings. I think this has been some of the most diverse and fun weddings we have ever had.

The Halloween wedding was one of the most unique weddings I have ever shot. Mater of fact it was the only Halloween wedding I have ever shot. The couple met at a Halloween party. To honor the occassion they wanted to get married on Halloween. Their friends all dressed up and the bride’s dad dressed as Dr. Evil walked her down the aisle. It was a lot of fun for all!

The Jewish wedding was held at the Temple in Atlanta. The Temple is located in midtown Atlanta and is one of American Judaism’s most historic religious institutions. Founded in 1867, it is the city’s oldest and most diverse synagogue. It has two sanctuaries one large and a smaller one for more intimate occasions. Then there is a huge reception hall for parties. It is a beautiful and wonderful synagogue with some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

The Hindu wedding was held at the Hindu Temple of Atlanta. (HTA) is a Hindu temple located in Riverdale, Georgia, serves the Hindu population in Metro Atlanta. HTA promotes and practices the ideals of the Hindu religion through worship and education. The Temple strives for spiritual richness and human excellence through the assimilation of the values emphasized in Hindu scriptures. It is a huge Temple with a large assembly of some wonderful people. Who are so gracious and kind. The ceremony was beautiful and followed many of the traditional rituals.

One the wedding we had at the end of teh year was held at some of Atlanta’s high profile historic landmarks. The ceremony was held at Peachtree Christian Church, across the street from the Temple. Since the dedication of the sanctuary in 1928, more than 9,000 couples have been united in Christian marriage at Peachtree Christian Church. With its Gothic Revival architectural style and beautiful stained glass windows, our sanctuary brings a sense of stunning elegance to the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Our building has been recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, and has been featured in Bride magazine. The reception was held down the street at Rhodes Hall. Rhodes Hall, one of Atlanta’s few remaining mansions on Peachtree Street, is located just north of Pershing Point. Built in 1904, prior to the development of Ansley Park, Rhodes Hall was designed by one of Atlanta’s most celebrated young architects, Willis F. Denny II, for one of the city’s wealthiest men. Constructed of Stone Mountain granite in the Romanesque Revival style, it holds statewide significance for both the quality and style of its architecture.
