Atlanta Wedding Photographers Share Historic ...

As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I get to shoot at some amazing locations. As some of you may know I am involved in historic preservation and I love historic venues. This week we are going to cover some of my favorite historic places of worship in Atlanta. I am also sharing a map of the historic churches, temples and synagogues in Atlanta. I hope you enjoy this little tour as much as I do.

The Temple, established in 1860 to serve the needs of the German-Jewish immigrants, is the only non-Christian historic house of worship in Midtown. The neoclassical Temple was designed by noted Atlanta classicist Philip Trammell Shutze in 1931. While dramatically scaled back from the pre-Depression plans, the sanctuary takes cues from Venetian churches Shutze saw while studying in Rome. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, The Temple was a center for civil rights advocacy. Its civil rights role was one of the central themes in the movie Driving Miss Daisy.

As a Atlanta wedding photographer at AtlantaArtisticWeddings I look forward to unique situations like rain. Please don’t let the rain dampen your photo session.  It is a great opportunity to make lemonade from lemons.  Rain can add a fun spontaneous element to your photography session!

When a couple is in the rain they have kicked their adventure level up a notch.  I know that they will have fun and that the magic will happen. The next time you see rain in the forecast don’t cancel your photo session but prepare to have a great time!

Atlanta Wedding Photographer Goes From Piedmont Park To Peachtree Street

We arrived at Piedmont Park right around sunrise. I was looking forward to the photoshoot and getting to know these two. As luck would have it, there was rain and a chilly morning in the forecast. They were real troopers and said let’s go for it! I grabbed an extra strobe light and umbrella from my car and we started in the park. We then stopped in front of the garage where they had some cool street lamps. Then we headed to the soccer field where you have one of the finest skylines in the city. Once again we used the umbrella and second strobe for lighting. After a few minutes there we headed to the dock and wrapped up our shooting at Piedmont Park. The rain seemed to be coming down a little harder so I suggested we go to the Georgian Terrace, a historic hotel in downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street. We'd be able to park there and go do some fun Downtown shots since it was only 5 minutes away. They agreed and off we went.

As a Atlanta wedding photographer it is an honor to shoot so many diverse weddings. Kellie and Nagy are this week’s couple. They are super a cute couple who come from different sides of the world. The bride, Kellie is from Atlanta, Georgia and the groom Nagy is from Cairo, Egypt. She was raised Catholic and he was raised Muslim. Fate brought them together and when they met they appreciated each others cultures. They saw not the differences in the cultures but the similarities, in their cultures, such as importance of family and the importance of love and respect.

Atlanta wedding photographers shoot Indian wedding in downtown Atlanta. The wedding took place at the Georgia Tech hotel. There was a very romantic photo shoot in the rain in the streets of Atlanta. It was a wonderful celebration of love, friends and family.

We got some great wedding photography of a barefoot bride in the rain with her husband and umbrella. The Atlanta wedding photographers captured a sparkler exit with back lighting from the wedding chapel with dramatic lighting. The bride wore a A frame sleeveless wedding dress in the rain.
