Atlanta Wedding Photographers Capture A Celebration Two Years In The Making

by David Diener

The ceremony was held inside the chapel. The Atlanta wedding photographers captured a mixed ceremony based on Sri Lanka culture. Sri Lanka is an island south of the Indian mainland. Since it is an island it has a rich history of international trade that influences the many religions that are practiced there. It was a beautiful ceremony. The bridesmaids sang a traditional song and there was even a person playing the conch shell. The couple fed each other and shared the cup of life. The two families exchanged gifts and the ceremony ended with the minister chopping a coconut in half!

Atlanta Wedding Photographer Catches A Proposal On Top Of The World!

by David Diener

A couple of weeks ago, this guy named AJ contacted me. He wanted me to photograph him proposing to his girlfriend on the Helipad on the roof of Vantanas. It was going to be a total surprise to her!

It was going to take a lot of planning to pull something like this off, so this Atlanta Wedding Photographer contacted Vantanas to work out the logistics and timing. The plan was for him to pretend to take his girlfriend out to eat. He would go to Centennial Park and the ferris wheel then across the park to Vantanas, where he would tell her that he has access to the roof there and its beautiful view of the city.

Ideal for both enthusiastic hobbyists as well as serious amateurs, our course will utilize a combination of class lectures and photographic assignments to convey the importance of megapixels, file compression, and print-versus-email output. We will also explore the more complex aspects of photography: lighting, composition, color, depth of field, and more. Students are encouraged to share work for enhancement of class discussions.

Wedding at Naylor Hall

This week’s couple is Lauren and Justin. Their wedding was a ton of fun and took plac at one of our favorite venues Naylor Hall.

The bride, Lauren, wore her mother’s wedding dress. They were the same size so she didn't even have to alter it! It was a modified A line dress with lace sleeves with ruffled trim around the base of the dress and a medium length manageable train. She also had a long veil that came to her knees. Lauren looked stunning in the dress and it was a beautiful homage to her mom. There was one more sentimental accessory on her bouquet: her father’s wedding ring. It was so touching that her attire was full of family heirlooms.

This week’s wedding is Jack and Gloria. It was an intimate wedding at the Payne Corley House, where a few lifelong friends and family got together on a beautiful day to celebrate two people who found a partner in life.

The Payne Corley House, built in 1873, is one of my favorite venues in Atlanta. The owners Krista and Michael Ganley have turned this historic mansion into a premier wedding turnkey venue, that can provide you with flowers from Abby’s at the Cottage, food from one the top cooks in Atlanta, talented professional wedding planners and a beautiful setting for your event.

We met at the entrance to the park by the Magnolia Room, a small wedding venue in Piedmont park. We started to walk around to the soccer field past the tennis courts. As we walked I got to learn more about their big Greek wedding! It is going to be held at The Annunciation Cathedral, a Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where the Atlanta Greek festival is held every year. They are such a sweet couple who are really thoughtful and caring. I even got to know how Nathan proposed to Evangeline and their little covid love story!

Photography by the Atlanta Wedding Photographers at AtlantaArtisticWeddings

If you follow our blog and social media then you know that we constantly talk about the important questions you should ask your wedding photographer. However, most people may not consider that the questions your photographer asks you are equally important. Now I know that answering questions from someone you likely just met may seem nerve-wracking and nosy to some people. However, there are plenty of reasons why you’ll want a photographer who will take the time to get to know more about you and what you want on your wedding day.

As an Atlanta wedding photographer I get to do a lot of engagement sessions all around Atlanta. One place that I keep coming back to is Piedmont Park. It is the crown jewel of Atlanta parks in the heart of the city offering so many great photo locations.

Now you might be wondering why I went into so much of the history of Piedmont Park. Well the answer is that all these features from the past make for such wonderful photo opportunities for an Atlanta wedding photographer because they make great backdrops and showcase Atlanta. Atlanta Wedding Photographers Shoot at Little Gardens

by David Diener

Little Gardens wedding photography by the Atlanta Wedding Photographers at AtlantaArtisticWeddings

This week’s couple is Kristin and Daniel. I met them through my church. They approached me after service one Sunday and said that they were looking for a Atlanta wedding photographer for their wedding at Little Gardens. I was excited to say yes Little Gardens is less than a mile from my house!

Little Gardens is a hidden gem in the Lawrenceville area. It is a colonial-style venue nestled in the midst of a 7-acre estate. It has an outdoor ceremony area with a picturesque waterfall and koi fish pond. There is also a large bridal suite with overstuffed sofas and a floor-to-ceiling mirror to die for as well as a large ballroom and wrap-around bar in the reception area.

It was a weekday wedding so I left work and went straight there. The bride and bridesmaids happened to arrive at the same time that I did. As they went into the bridal room I brought out the wedding dress for a few detail shots. Also while the girls were getting ready the groom arrived with his groomsmen. We kept the groups separated until the ceremony.

Keven and Maria are this week’s couple. Keven contacted me one week before the wedding. He explained that it was going to be a small ceremony of a few family and friends while everyone was in town for the holidays.

The wedding was held at the Cherokee Town and Country Club, a historic mansion located off of Paces Ferry Road between Midtown and Buckhead. The Town Club occupies the famed Grant Estate and was chartered in 1956. It is recognized as one of America’s premier private clubs. The Grant Estate is one of the 8 original historic properties on Paces Ferry. It is part of Atlanta’s most beautiful historic districts which includes such properties as the Swan House, Tullie Smith House, and Stuart With House.

Love Never Gets Old

by David Diener

This wedding was the last wedding of 2021 and it made me a little reflective and thankful. As an Atlanta wedding photographer you get to cross paths with a lot of wonderful people. It was great to see Monsignor Gracz and know that there are so many caring people doing God’s work. It was also great to see the staff at Naylor Hall who have become friends and are just so gracious to everyone. Finally I am grateful to my wedding team at Atlanta Artistic Weddings who bring joy to others. From Heather who edits my blogs and makes me seem like I can talk pretty. To Lizzie who edits the photos and gets the anticipated photos to the clients so quickly. To Sarah and Tara who share their photography skills and make me a better photographer. But most of all I am thankful for my family for putting up with me and my long work hours away from the people I love.

Atlanta Wedding Photographer Goes From Piedmont Park To Peachtree Street

by David Diener

Photography by the Atlanta Wedding Photographers at AtlantaArtisticWeddings

Photography by the Atlanta Wedding Photographers at AtlantaArtisticWeddings

We arrived at Piedmont Park right around sunrise. I was looking forward to the photoshoot and getting to know these two. As luck would have it, there was rain and a chilly morning in the forecast. They were real troopers and said let’s go for it! I grabbed an extra strobe light and umbrella from my car and we started in the park. We then stopped in front of the garage where they had some cool street lamps. Then we headed to the soccer field where you have one of the finest skylines in the city. Once again we used the umbrella and second strobe for lighting. After a few minutes there we headed to the dock and wrapped up our shooting at Piedmont Park. The rain seemed to be coming down a little harder so I suggested we go to the Georgian Terrace, a historic hotel in downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street. We'd be able to park there and go do some fun Downtown shots since it was only 5 minutes away. They agreed and off we went.

Blue Lives Together - Under the Shield of Love

by David Diener

Amanda and Robert are this week’s couple. They are two police officers who fell in love. They both have a deep appreciation of history, service to their community and devotion to each other. They are such a wonderful couple!

As a Atlanta wedding photographer I do so many weddings I have seen couples with the same occupation marry each other, wether it be archaeologists who travel a lot, EMTs that deal with traumatic accidents, or doctors who have long hours and many hours of school. It seems like these couples understand the sacrifices of their occupation. They know that it is their passion in life and they have a calling to do what they do. I can see that in people in law enforcement too.

Rustic Engagement Session - Growing Up and Growing in Love

by David Diener

This week’s engagement session by the Atlanta wedding photographers at AtlantaArtisticWeddings was with Amanda and Kenny. I met them right after sunrise at McDaniels Farm. It was a very cool morning in the high 40’s. They could not have been more gracious about the cold weather. She wore a beautiful long dress and he a complimenting dress shirt and slacks. Perfect for a brisk fall morning in Georgia.

McDaniel’s Farm is a hidden gem of a park. It is on a 1930’s era farm with historic barns and outbuildings. There are also mixed use trails that go around the park. In the middle of that there are fields with some great morning light. In the very center of the McDaniels Farm is the main house owned by the McDaniels family. It is a great location for your engagement photos, providing lots of options for your Atlanta photographer.
